It seems you are condemning Slifkin for not having written two books for every one that he wrote, or at least for not having written an entirely different book about what is really a different topic, no matter how related you may consider them. Surely if he had written the work you suggest he would have gotten in even more trouble. I don't really understand, in fact, why one cannot be written without the other -- unless you are suggesting that Slifkin never quite comes out and takes a stand on the matter.
