The new members of the East Ramapo Central District Board who were elected by the votes of the Jewish Ortthodox community are in a struggle to help all the children in the district. They are opposed by a coalition of Preserve Ramapo, district workers and its transportation employees, and "community organizers". A contentious meeting on December 1st, saw intimidation, name-calling, threats and videotaping of those who dared to support the Board in its attempt to appoint new District Counsel. Board members and their supporters were shouted down, insulted and threatened and predjudice hang heavily in the air.
