| Video presented at the Gimmel Tammuz Rally for Yaldei Hashluchim. Gimmel Tammuz is Tuesday and it commemorates the anniversary of the passing of the Lubavitcher Rebbe. This video is chock-full of all the things that attract me to Chabad and of the things that make me absolutely frustrated and crazy about the state of the movement today. Sometimes they are the same things. | |

What is there to be attracted to?
It mentions the Rebbe hundreds of times as the "commander", who one strives to "connect" to, who sets standards for behavior, who bestows blessing, who will be revealed when the geulah comes.
It doesn't mention God even once.
If that's not idolatry than what is?

I agree with the previous poster. This boy seems to be davening to the rebbe, certainly a violation of one of the Rambam's ikrei emunah. Even on a child's level, it is crazy to want to tchias hameisim to see the rebbe. What abput Avraham, Yitzchak etc.? This is lunacy.

I agree with the commenters. The fire that today burns in some circles (not all) in Chabad is from klipas nogah, a mixture of idealism, self sacrifice, committment, and also "foreign fire" that should not be brought on the mizbeach of Hashem. Unfortunately, Chabad and Breslav are the only two groups left with real fire. What does on do when one is cold and the only fire available is a mixture of consecrated and unholy? Eish shebach eitzim bpas, ...or not?
