"Grand Rabbi Zalman Leib Teitelbaum, Satmar Rebbe of Williamsburg, and Grand Rabbi Hananiah Yom Tov Lipa Leopold Teitelbaum, Zenta Rebbe, presiding over the celebrations of the celebration of the Jewish festival of Shavuos (Pentacost). That year it coincided with the Sabbath, so this was the mystical third Sabbath meal, after the Sabbath had already ended. The Hassidim are singing a traditional Lubavitcher Hassidic tune for the words from the holiday liturgy, "Gather our exiles from the nations, and lift us up like a banner from the ends of the earth." | |

You translate "unefutzotenu kanes" as "lift us up like a banner"? I would have thought "gather our scattered ones"...

You are correct. This was an exact quote that accompanied the video in Google. I now placed a quotation mark at the beginning as well as the end of the quote so it is cearly identified as a quote.
Interesting "chop", though, isn't it?

Yeah, I'm not sure how you go about making "unefutzotenu" into a verb, but "ka-ness" is pretty clever.
